Winter Wildlands Alliance's Grassroots Advocacy Skills Conference
The Winter Wildlands Alliance presents its first Grassroots Advocacy Skills Conference designed to help activists protect the winter wildlands in their backyard. Join the WWA from October 4-6, 2002, at the Bogus Basin Ski Resort in Boise, Idaho, for this exciting conference.
This conference is created specifically for human-powered snowsports enthusiasts and activists. You'll acquire a better understanding of laws pertaining to snowmobiles and leave with improved advocacy skills and the resources to build an effective grassroots group and work with the media.
You will leave the Grassroots Advocacy Skills Conference with an action plan designed to guide you in the preservation of your winter recreation areas. This hands-on, skills-based conference includes talks on Organizing; Understanding Federal Policy and Legal Strategies; Media Relations; and Networking with other activists, Forest Service Personnel, etc.

The conference begins the afternoon of Friday, October 4, and ends at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 6.
FEES
Registration is $100 for Winter Wildlands Alliance members and $125 for non-members. BSA Members who register before August 31 will receive a $25 discount. LOCATION
Bogus Basin Ski Resort is nestled in the Boise National Forest 13 miles from Boise, Idaho. At an elevation of 6,000 feet, fall weather is typically mild and sunny, and the area offers many hiking and mountain biking trails with scenic views.
